What inspires you?
A lot of things can provide inspiration – watching other people accomplish great things, watching other people overcome adversity, the sheer beauty of nature can remind us just how fortunate we are to be alive.

All week Thunderbolt Electronics talked about Cell Phone Boosters, today we are going to give you some links on how to take a Field Test and How To Enable it on Your Phone
Any signal readings you take are only good for the phone’s individual carrier.
When taking a signal reading, you must also keep track of the network (2G, 3G, 4G, LTE, etc.) your phone is connected to.
LTE readings are sometimes measured differently from previous generation networks so without knowing if a signal is from an LTE network or a previous network, it’s impossible to interpret the results.

How to Choose a Cellular Signal Booster
How to Choose a Signal Booster
In order to select the correct cell phone signal booster for your situation, you need to know the following information: The existing outside signal strength, and the size of the area that needs to be covered in boosted signal.
Outside Signal Strength
The outside signal strength you need to boost determines how strong of an amplifier you need to provide for the best coverage. The weaker the outside signal is, the stronger the cell phone signal booster needs to be in order to boost the signal and provide sufficient coverage.

What Is A Cell Phone Signal Booster?
Thunderbolt Electronics will explain what a Cell Phone Signal Booster is?
Cell phone signal boosters (also known as cell phone repeaters) are made to address the factors that cause poor cell phone reception. The booster receives the signal, amplifies it, and serves as a relay between your phone and the nearest cell tower.
weBoost devices are able to capture an exterior signal even one that is far away and amplify it in your car, home, or office. weBoost devices work on every network, for any carrier, to give you up to 32x your cell signal strength.

Obstructions Causing Interference To Your Cellular Device
Today Thunderbolt Electronics Will Tell You About
Obstructions Causing Interference
While cell signal passes through the air with nominal problems, every object it meets between the tower and your mobile device causes some degree of impedance. Hills, mountains, and trees can cause major signal issues, as well as building materials, like metal siding, concrete, and wire mesh. Also, the use of energy efficient products, such as radiant barriers and window tinting, have contributed to the degree of cell phone reception problems in new homes.

Causes Of Poor Cell Phone Signal
Causes of Poor Cell Phone Signal
There are two contributing causes: distance from the closest cell tower and obstructions causing interference.
Today Thunderbolt Electronics will talk about The Distance from the Closest Cell Tower
Carriers provide cell coverage through a network of strategically placed cellular towers. Whenever you are within this network, your mobile device will automatically connect with the closest tower, as you move, it will continue jumping to the next closest tower. As you get towards the edge of your carrier's coverage area, there will not be any new towers to jump to, then your mobile device will start to experience a reduction in your signal. You will reach a point where your mobile device is too far from the tower to maintain a constant connection, and you will have dropped calls.

Cell Phone Signal Boosters
A lot of us experience some form of dropped calls a few times per week or more. Dropped calls are still a major problem for a large number of people. Our carriers continue to add towers and expand coverage areas, but this is not a problem that is going away soon. So what can we do?
Many years of research into this problem, the FCC officially approved the use of cell phone signal boosters to extend the range of cell networks into areas that receive poor service.
This week Thunderbolt Electronics will look at what cell phone signal boosters are and give some guidance on how to choose the right system to permanently solve your reception problems.

So What Do You Need For Your 4K UHD?
4K UHD (Ultra-high-definition television) standard will require support for HDCP ( High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection, a copy protection scheme to eliminate the possibility of intercepting digital data midstream between the source to the display) 2.2 copy protection and HDMI 2.0 from every device in the chain. That includes everything from televisions to the sound bars to the receivers.
A television like this Proscan® 55" 4K Ultra HDTV with Roku® Streaming Stick® combined with a receiver like the CE Labs® Ultra HD 4K 1 x 4 HDMI® Distribution Amp, will allow you to watch the 4K UHD content that is already out there, and get you ready for the rush of Blu-ray and streaming options that will continue to hit the market.

What Is 4K?
4 times the resolution of 1080p.
Technically, 4K indicates a display size of 4096 x 2160 pixels, an aspect ratio of 1.9:1.
likely to be the main choice for the future.
The new 4K UHD Blu-ray players are not available yet. Hopefully, they will be on the shelves right around the holidays, these should be backward compatible with the optical media you already own, and have up-scaling support for 1080p content.
Streaming content in 4K UHD is also available. Netflix and Amazon Prime already have a few offerings, and YouTube supports 4K UHD streaming for some video.
4K UHD video is considered the next big push, but you will have to upgrade your televisions. You will have to upgrade more than one component of your system in order to ensure that you can watch 4K UHD-grade video at the maximum quality.

Black Bear Gnaws on Delta 15s Seakayak in Berg Bay, Alaska
During a solo kayak trip, intended to go from from Ketchikan,
Alaska to Petersburg, Alaska, a bear attacked my kayak.
This incident occurred outside of a US Forest Service cabin
in Berg Bay, Wrangell District, Alaska. I had just carried my
tent, food, and all my gear into the cabin to dry while I went
on a 4 mile hike that begins just behind the cabin. I heard
something outside as I ate my lunch, and well, I never got to
go on that hike. This video is taken 5 minutes after the attack
began, he continued to gnaw on it for another 5 or 10 after
the video ends. Shortly after the bear left and I drug the
kayak back to the cabin door step. Then I swam to the S/V
anchored in the bay. They did not have their radio on and I
feared I would be stranded! The German flagged S/v
Caledonia took me and my things to Wrangell where I am
trying to repair my kayak now.
