Roughly two in five American families now pay for a streaming video service like Netflix or Amazon Prime, according to a recent survey by Nielsen. Not all of us have a smart TV. That is where a streaming media player comes in.
Which one to get? Consumer Report tested nine models for their streaming media player Ratings. They chose three leading players: Apple TV, which has added more content; Amazon Fire TV, which has gained a few new features since Consumer Report first tested it; and the second-generationRoku 3, which replaces the company's previous Roku 3 flagship model.
